Tax authorities have confiscated an enormous quantity of raw tobacco, totaling 3,000 bales each weighing an estimated 80,000 kilograms, in what is being described as a landmark enforcement action against the illicit tobacco sector.
According to an official report today, the extensive operation was carried out by the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Abbottabad. In the aftermath of the seizure, officials have sealed the premises involved in the illicit activity and launched a formal investigation into the matter.
