Rehabilitation of Karachi Jinnah Bridge completed at a cost of Rs 609 million to facilitate port traffic

Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has formally inaugurated the major rehabilitation project of Jinnah Bridge, completed at a cost of Rs. 609 million, aimed at easing travel for citizens and improving traffic flow between the port and other parts of the city.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony today, the Mayor confirmed the completion of extensive repair work, which included laying approximately 775,000 square meters of new asphalt on the structure.

The project also included the complete replacement of the bridge’s 552 meters of expansion joints, a critical component for its structural strength and for providing a smooth journey for commuters.

Mayor Wahab, highlighting the administration’s focus on public service, said, “Providing better and safer travel facilities to the citizens is our priority.”

He said that the renovation of this important central bridge is part of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) ongoing initiatives to improve the city’s key infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by MPA Asif Khan, Town Chairman Maripur Humayun Khan, members of the KMC City Council, and other elected representatives.
