Jammu, April 29, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the relatives and neighbours of a youth, Mukhtar Shah, held a protest demonstration with the dead body placed on the road in Mendhar area of Poonch.
Mukhtar Shah consumed poison and died after he was summoned and subjected to severe mental and physical torture by the forces’ personnel.
The protesters, including family members of the deceased, blocked the Jammu-Poonch Highway between Bhimber Gali and Bhata Dhurrian to press for an inquiry into the circumstances that led to Mukhtar’s death. They said that he committed suicide under pressure and sought justice from the authorities.
In his nearly 10-minute video message, Mukhtar said, “I and my family are being harassed. Despite speaking the truth, nobody is listening to me. Swearing by Allah and the holy book that he did not help in carrying out the attack. 200 to 500 innocent villagers are facing harassment and torture for no fault of theirs.”
