ISLAMABAD:Speedy rescue operations are underway to control forest fires in Sherani and Musa Khel districts of Balochistan on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
This was stated in a detailed report of the Balochistan government regarding the ongoing rescue operation, presented to the Prime Minister on Tuesday. The report said that special teams have been constituted by the Forest Department and civil administration for rescue and relief operations. The report said that a special task force has been notified in Shairani district which is working round-the-clock while a camp office of Secretary Forest Department has been set up in the district.
According to the report, three ambulances, fire trucks, vans and satellite vehicles of Provincial Disaster Management Authority are participating in the operation while fireballs and fire fighting vehicles have been provided by the PDMA.
The Prime Minister informed that the Federal Government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) are providing all possible assistance and a base camp by Pakistan Army has been set up for relief operations in the affected area. Firefighting aircraft also took part in extinguishing fire and it will also be utilized in the rescue and relief operations in the forests of Dera Ismail Khan.
