Retired Sindh govt servants demand payment of group insurance

LARKANA:Retired Sindh government servants held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh Friday, demanding implementation of Supreme Court order in respect of payment of group insurance amount to the aged employees who served the government for life and they are now denied the payment of insurance which was regularly deducted from their monthly salaries.

The protesters included retired primary teacher Raza Ali Shah, Aijaz Ali Abro, Qurban Ali Abro, Sultan Junejo, Abdul Aziz Chandio and others who complained while talking to media persons that retired employees of other three provinces had been paid group insurance amount in compliance with the orders of the apex court but Sindh government is still glaringly violating Supreme Court order notice of which should be taken by the apex court.

They said the provincial rulers have no respect for law but they are also involved in throwing superior court directives into the dust bin and one vivid proof of their acts is denying the group insurance amount to its aged retired employees most of them have already expired and others are suffering from various chronic diseases. They said many of them have no home to live in and their sons are unemployed in this massive price-hike era. They said their daughters are unmarried as they don’t have money to buy dowry for them and bear other marriage costs which should be enough for the rulers to open their closed eyes.

They demanded of the PPP government to sanction the group insurance amount without further loss of time and also appealed to the apex court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the Sindh Government for its failure to implement its decision well in time stipulated in the order.
