Rich tributes paid to S Hameed Wani on martyrdom anniversary

Srinagar, April 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have paid glowing tributes to prominent martyred freedom leader, S Hameed Wani, on his martyrdom anniversary. Indian police had arrested S Hamid Wani on April 18, 1998 in Soura area of Srinagar and killed him in custody.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, and other Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements said that S Hameed Wani was a sincere and a brave leader who from his early youth worked tirelessly to take the freedom movement to its logical conclusion.

The Hurriyat leaders said that he always led the freedom movement with exemplary courage and the Kashmiris would always remember this great son of soil along with other martyrs and would not take rest till the mission of these martyrs was accomplished.

The leaders said India is pursuing the policy of aggression and suppression to prolong its occupation but history stands testimony to the fact that all the forcible occupations have ended with the passage of time.
