Rich tributes paid to youth martyred in Badgam, Shopian

Srinagar, January 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to the six youth martyred by Indian troops in Badgam and Shopian areas. The troops during cordon and search operations martyred three youth in Charar-e-Sharif area of Badgam on Monday and as many at Heff Shirmal in Shopian district on Tuesday.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar paid homage to the martyred youth. He deplored that there was no let-up in killings and persecution of Kashmiris by the Indian forces.

Other Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Firdos Ahmed Shah, Parray Hassan Firdosi, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their statements while paying homage to the martyred youth said that the Kashmiris would accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs. They said that the Kashmiri youth were rendering their lives for a great cause and their sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste.

The leaders and organizations also strongly denounced the use of brute force and firing of pellets on peaceful protesters and journalists by Indian troops in Shopian and appealed to the world human rights bodies to send their teams to occupied Kashmir to investigate the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian forces’ personnel in the territory.
