An infrastructure project has been initiated in Malir district at an estimated cost of 39 crore 68 lakh rupees, aimed at the construction and rehabilitation of a major road and the installation of a new drainage system.

The works were formally inaugurated by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab at a foundation stone laying ceremony today, targeting the route from Gulshan-e-Hadeed Mor to Allah Wali Chowrangi.

The project includes the renovation of a 2.33-kilometer-long road, which will be 24 feet wide upon completion.

A key component of the initiative is the construction of a 2.59-kilometer-long drainage line for sewerage, which officials say will provide relief to local residents with this modern system.

Addressing the ceremony, Mayor Wahab said that providing modern travel facilities to citizens is a priority and practical steps are being taken to improve infrastructure in the district.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, members of the KMC City Council, elected representatives, and a large number of the public.
