Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar visited the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi today, where he met with IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon.

According to a statement by the Sindh home ministry, the meeting focused on the overall law and order situation in the province. The home minister issued strict instructions for anti-aerial firing measures and emphasized taking stern action against those involved in such acts.

The home ninister directed law enforcement agencies to ensure effective and immediate steps to curb the dangerous trend of aerial firing and emphasized that there would be no compromise on maintaining peace and security.

During the meeting, issues related to the security of Chinese nationals were also discussed. The home minister instructed that foolproof security arrangements be ensured for foreign nationals to prevent any untoward incidents.

After the meeting, he visited the Safe City Monitoring Room at the CPO. On this occasion, the DG Safe City provided a detailed briefing on monitoring measures and other essential aspects.

It was revealed during the briefing that 60 cameras have been installed at 12 different locations across the city, including Automatic Number Plate Recognition and facial recognition cameras. Additionally, it was stated that the Safe City project system is integrated with the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell and the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee to combat crimes effectively.

IG Sindh informed that the project had been recently launched and its positive outcomes would soon become visible. The home minister emphasized the need for a swift response to crimes, particularly theft and vehicle snatching, and announced that he would personally monitor these measures.
