Sakrand’s minor abductee recovered after 48 hours, reward and shield announced for police on successful operation

In a major police operation involving the analysis of footage from over 500 CCTV cameras, the abducted child, Fida Hussain, was safely recovered today, and the main suspect was arrested. The alleged kidnapper was reportedly attempting to move the child to Punjab.

The incident occurred on January 15, 2026, when Fida Hussain, son of Noonari, was reported missing from the Sakrand police station area, which his family immediately declared an abduction. In response to the disappearance, the family staged a sit-in protest outside the police station, demanding immediate action.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) City, Dur-e-Tabish, personally met with the protesting family and assured them. She said, “I am a mother too, and the police will use all its capabilities to ensure the safe recovery of the child.” On the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad, four special teams were immediately formed to handle the case.

This extensive investigation was conducted by four special teams, comprising 40 officers and personnel, under the supervision of ASP Dur-e-Tabish. The operation involved a meticulous review of footage from over 500 CCTV cameras covering hotels, shops, and transport hubs within a 30-kilometer radius. Investigators persisted despite challenges such as non-functional cameras and poor-quality recordings at several locations.

A breakthrough occurred when the analysis of CCTV footage identified a suspect seen with the child. Clear images of this individual were obtained and sent to NADRA for identity verification. Authorities also tracked down and detained the driver of the rickshaw used to transport the child from Cinema Chowk.

The timely and professional police action resulted in the successful arrest of the kidnapper and the safe return of the child. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend other possible facilitators involved in the crime.

The SSP of Shaheed Benazirabad praised the exceptional performance and tireless efforts of the involved teams. He specifically commended ASP City Dur-e-Tabish, DSPs UT Talal and Sameer Gul, the SHO of Sakrand Police Station, and the technical team, announcing rewards and honorary shields for their successful operation. A police statement affirmed that this outcome demonstrates their commitment to fulfilling promises made to the public and ensuring the protection of children.
