In a consultative meeting held on Wednesday evening at Jinnah Hall in the Municipal Corporation Mirpurkhas, retired and current employees announced decisive action. A large number of workers attended the gathering and unanimously decided that the office will be closed from Thursday until their demands are met.
The primary reasons for this protest include the non-payment of increased salaries and pensions, while arrears for the past five months have also accumulated. Furthermore, the non-implementation of court-ordered promotions has increased the employees’ frustration. The closure will affect all staff, including Town Mir Sher Muhammad, Town Syed Khadim Ali Shah, and essential service sectors such as vehicle management, pumping, and the fire station.
Participants have been urged to remain consistently involved in the protest efforts to amplify their concerns and compel higher authorities to address these long-standing grievances. Prominent figures leading the protest include Mazhar Abbasi, Rana Rashid, Aamir Gulzar, Jahanzeb Ahmed, Riaz Masih, Arshad Parvez, Khadim Masih, and Wasim Jhandar. Their leadership aims to consolidate support and achieve a favorable outcome for the workforce.
