SAPM: (9,80,000 Pakistanis sent abroad for employment by Govt in last two years: Zulfi Bukhari)

ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Syed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari has said nine hundred and eighty thousand Pakistanis have been sent abroad for employment by the incumbent government in the last two years.

In a message on the occasion of World Migrants day observed on Friday, he said Pakistan recorded 6.75 percent growth in economy contribution of Overseas Pakistanis in country’s GDP.

He said Pakistan received a record 21.84 billion dollars as remittances over the previous financial year despite the outbreak of COVID-19.

He said bilateral Memorandums of Understanding in the field of labour and manpower have been signed with Saudi Arabia, Algeria, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia, South Korea, Bahrain, Japan and others.

Moreover, MOUs with Spain, South Africa, Syria, Ecuador, Ukraine, Botswana and Azerbaijan are in the pipeline, he added.
