SBT protests rising child rapes, murders

LARKANA: Sujag Barira Tehreek (SBT) Larkana activists held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Saturday against the rising incidents of abductions, murders, rapes and torture of children in Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, SBT central president Aitzaz Gaincho and leader Naveed Abbas Kalhoro said that abductions, murders and rapes of innocent children had become a daily routine in Sindh. They said that an eight-year-old Adesh Kumar had been abducted by motorcyclists from Ranipur but the police had done nothing yet to recover him.

They said that a four-year-old innocent child Junaid Ahmed Bakhrani was abducted from Tangwani but he could not be recovered so far despite the passage of many days. They said that an innocent girl Priya Kumari of Sangrar could not be even after 11 months, and Fazila Sarki of Thul has not so far been freed from the clutches of the oppressors till today despite passage of 17 years, they added.

They said that the law enforcement agencies had become lame and helpless due to their lack of authority, while the rulers of Sindh had put the lives of innocent children of Sindh at stake and the police had become their personal servants confined only to provide security to the rulers.

Due to the non-recovery of the innocent children, their mothers and fathers are having fainting spells, they added. They said that the performance of the police on child abduction issues is extremely lethargic and the elected representatives had become silent spectators.

They said that lawlessness was fast spreading in Sindh. The leaders of the SBT demanded that the government and other relevant authorities should take immediate notice of the incidents of child abductions, murders and rapes, and the law enforcement agencies should play their role in controlling those crimes.
