Schemes worth Rs10bn given to Karachi, says Governor

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said Tuesday that schemes worth Rs10 billion had been given to Karachi and schemes worth over Rs450 billion set aside for interior Sindh while funds for 70% of the schemes had been released.

 

This he said during his visit to different areas of Karachi to monitor the ongoing development works. He was accompanied by Member National Assembly Alamgir Khan. The Sindh governor visited COD Filter Plant at Dalmia and Shantinagar area. During his visit, he also inspected the ongoing sewerage work under the Nipa flyover. Besides, he visited Metro Family Park in Gulzar Hijri Scheme 33 and Family Park in Gulistan-e-Johar’s Block-14.

 

Talking to media on this occasion, the governor said that he had visited different areas of the city to monitor the ongoing development works. He further said that Sindh was not being discriminated and there was no situation of Governor Rule in Sindh. Ismail said: “Sindh is our home and it will not be allowed to be ruined under any circumstances. The present federal government has shown interest and started development works.”
