KARACHI:The Sindh Education Department has revised school timings after the approval of the steering committee, according to a report on Wednesday.
According to the new schedule, for the period from April 1 to October 31, schools will now be open from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm from Monday through Thursday and Saturday.
On Fridays, however, the new timings will be from 8 am to 12 pm. A separate schedule for schools from November 1 to March 31 has also been issued by the education department.
As per the November to March schedule, schools’ timings will be from Monday through Thursday and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Monday to Thursday and Saturday. Meanwhile, schools will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
There will be different timings for Ramadan as well. During Ramadan, schools will open from Monday to Thursday and Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and close at 12:00 p.m.
On Fridays in Ramadan, timing from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. will be observed. A new schedule has also been released for schools with double shifts in this regard.
