SDPI, Energy Update Sign MOU to Boost SDC 2025 Awareness

Pakistan’s leading sustainable development think tank and a premier energy publication have forged a strategic alliance to amplify awareness for a critical upcoming conference addressing the theme of “Sustainable Development in the Emerging World,” aiming to tackle pressing issues like climate action and green energy transitions.

The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) and Energy Update, the country’s foremost energy magazine, formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding last month. The pact is designed to bolster outreach for the 28th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC 2025), according to a report today.

Under the terms of the agreement, Energy Update will utilize its extensive platforms, including its website, social media channels, and print editions, to spotlight the high-profile summit. This partnership seeks to foster greater stakeholder engagement on vital national and global challenges.

The four-day event, scheduled from November 4-7 at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), is expected to draw over 1,000 participants to deliberate on subjects ranging from green energy to equitable growth.

Representing SDPI at the signing were Dr. Zainab Naeem, Research Fellow, and Ms. Halima Khan, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs. Witnesses to the accord included Mohammad Naeem Qureshi, Managing Editor of Energy Update; Engr. Nadeem Ashraf, Chief Marketing Officer; and Saira Adnaan.

“This collaboration with Energy Update will enhance knowledge-sharing and drive meaningful dialogues on sustainability challenges facing Pakistan and the Global South,” stated Dr. Zainab Naeem.

Mohammad Naeem Qureshi affirmed his organization”s role in the initiative. “As a strategic partner, Energy Update is committed to spotlighting SDC 2025″s innovations in energy and environmental policy,” he remarked.

This new agreement builds upon previous joint efforts between the two organizations, including coverage of SDPI-led initiatives like the Solar Pakistan events. The alliance aligns with SDPI”s core mission to influence national policies related to climate resilience and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
