Islamabad, November 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): Second Round of Pakistan-Sri Lanka Armed Forces Defence Dialogue (AFDD) was held in Ministry of Defence, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from 5-6 November, 2019. Lt Gen (Retd) Ikram Ul Haq, Secretary Defence, led the Pakistan side where as Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Chief of Defence Staff led Sri Lanka side.
During the Defence Dialogue (AFDD), the two sides reviewed the present status of bilateral defence cooperation and also explored new vistas / avenues to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of defence, including defence production, military training, military education and exercises. It was also agreed upon that next AFDD will be held in Sri Lanka on mutually agreed timeframe. During his visit, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne also called on CJCSC, COAS, CNS and CAS and discussed matters of mutual interest.
