Security forces arrest PLFI militants, seize explosives in Jharkhand

Ranchi, In a targeted crackdown, Jharkhand police apprehended two militants associated with the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in Khunti district, following a tip-off that led to a search operation. This successful intervention also coincided with the seizure of a significant cache of explosives in a separate operation in the Latehar district, indicating a ramp-up in anti-militancy efforts in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Superintendent of Police Ashwini Kumar Sinha confirmed the arrests, which took place in Jilingburu village. Authorities seized three motorcycles, two mobile phones, and solar plates from the arrested individuals. In a parallel development, a joint operation by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and district police uncovered a haul of explosives in Bichilidag forest within Latehar district. CRPF Assistant Commandant Amit Sachan detailed the seizure of five improvised explosive devices, five hand grenades, four kilograms of liquid explosives, two electronic detonators, and twelve live cartridges.

These operations underscore the ongoing vigilance of security forces in Jharkhand against insurgent activities and their commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.
