Authorities today ordered a significant tightening of security across the federal capital, with directives issued for a crackdown on unregistered vehicles and intensified scrutiny of suspicious individuals.
The instructions came from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, during a tour of various areas, including checkpoints and churches, where he reviewed existing safety measures.
To bolster security and patrolling efforts, additional police personnel and mobile units have been deployed at checkpoints throughout the city.
SSP Raza directed all officers to remain alert, maintain a strict watch on criminal elements, and ensure the effective inspection of questionable vehicles and motorcycles. He underscored that thorough checks of suspicious individuals and their vehicles must be ensured under all circumstances.
He affirmed that stringent legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt peace and order, with specific instructions to pursue legal proceedings against unregistered vehicles and motorcycles.
While emphasizing vigilance, the SSP also directed officers to treat citizens with courtesy during security checks and to prioritize public convenience at all times.
Reiterating that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the foremost priority of the Islamabad Police, he appealed to the public for cooperation during inspections to help maintain security in the city.
