Security tightened during polio campaign in Sindh, police patrols, snap checking

Sindh Interior Minister Zia Hassan Lanjar has ordered strict security measures during the polio campaign launched in the province and emphasized inter-agency cooperation and a strong security cordon. He stressed the need for strict surveillance of neighborhoods and passageways at the police station level.

Lanjar directed that the door-to-door polio vaccination process be effective and successful. He called for increased police patrols, checkpoints, and surveillance in all districts.

District police chiefs have been tasked with overseeing the campaign’s security. Station House Officers (SHOs) have been directed to remain present in their respective areas during the campaign and provide regular updates to their respective control centers.
