Sehat Card restored in Azad Kashmir, crackdown against sale of substandard items, special teams deployed

Food Minister Javed Iqbal Budhanvi has said that the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against food adulteration and the sale of substandard items, and special teams have been deployed across the province to take indiscriminate action against culprits.

He said on Monday that ensuring the provision of quality, safe, and wholesome food is the top priority of the administration. For this purpose, the Food Department is performing its duties with professional expertise to protect public health.

The minister, detailing the measures, said that departmental teams are actively monitoring the preparation, storage, and sale of food items. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against any individual or group found involved in practices that endanger citizens’ health.

Mr. Budhanvi stressed that these enforcement measures are part of the government’s broader philosophy that prioritizes practical actions over mere claims and announcements. He said the administration is demonstrating its performance to honor the trust placed in it by the public.

As an example of this policy, the minister cited the recent restoration of the Sehat Card program. He explained that this initiative was reinstated in the public interest so that citizens belonging to the poor and middle classes could benefit from quality medical facilities without any discrimination.

Javed Iqbal Budhanvi said the government considers state resources a sacred trust and is spending them on the public by taking all possible measures to alleviate economic and social problems. He confirmed that work is underway on various development projects.

He concluded by saying that the entire state machinery is active and working collaboratively to resolve the difficulties faced by the residents. The minister affirmed that the government is sincerely advancing its mission of public service, aiming to ensure that citizens benefit directly from its actions.
