Senate House Committee visited the under construction building of Parliament Lodges

Islamabad, August 20, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Senate House Committee visited the under construction building of Parliament Lodges. Chairman Committee, Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, accompanied by Senator Kalsoom Parveen, Senator Mir Muhammad Yousuf Badini, Senator Sardar Muhammad Shafiq Tareen and officers from CDA, members of the press visited the location of the project.

Showing grave dismay due of lack of progress, Chairman Committee, Senator Saleem Madviwalla said that this was a sad story as numerous Senators and MNAs have been deprived of quality housing due to its pending since the last many years. He was of the view that this was a waste of precious public money and time.

He further added that, the Committee tried its best to ensure that this project is completed within stipulated time. Now a new consultant has been hired and according to CDA within three months bidding for the Contractor will be conducted after which this project will be mobilized.

He added that since this project falls within the ambit of PSDP, the Committee has consulted with the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance. Minister for Planning Development and Reform, Asad Umar has assured that funds for this project will be re-appropriated from existing projects due to its importance and by the end of this year this project will be mobilized.
