Services of Khan Bahadur Nawab Ameer Ali Lahori forgotten

LARKANA: The services rendered by my late father Khan Bahadur Nawab Ameer Ali Lahori have never been recognized by the government or people of Larkana who gave his hundreds of acres of precious lands for development and prosperity of Larkana.

This was stated by his son and former foreign minister Nawab Qalab Hussain Lahori while talking to newsmen during his visit to historic Tajar Building where a museum is being established by the Sindh Government’s Culture Department, here on Thursday.

He said the lands include Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Civil Hospital, Shaikh Zayed Women Hospital, DC House, Sambara Hotel, Fish Market and others. He said the Sindh Government, political, social welfare and literary organizations have never remembered my father’s vital contribution for the uplift of the city of Larkana which is very painful.

He said it is for the first time a portrait of my late father has been kept on the outer side of the under-construction museum along with other historical personalities of Larkana. He said he has come here to see the photo of his father who rendered meritorious services for the people of Larkana which have never been appreciated.

He said construction of the museum by the archeology department in the historical Tajar building (constructed during Kalhora dynasty in Jinnah Bagh) was also launched years ago but due to frequent change of governments the work remained neglected which has now been revived by the Culture Department and hoped it will now be completed on time.

He said with the timely completion of the museum it will also greatly attract foreign tourists along with locals. He said his father Nawab Ameer Ali Lahori remained President of Larkana Municipality, and breathed his last in 1966.
