LARKANA:A team of Sindh Food Authority (SFA) Tuesday conducted surprise raids at various hotels and restaurants located on Luhar Bypass, Dodai Road and other areas of Larkana and imposed a total fine of Rs95,600 for dirtiness and unhygienic food items.
In this connection, SFA Safety Officers Aslam Shar, Muhammad Ali Soomro and Akbar Brohi told newsmen that Al-Rafiu Shinwari Restaurant, Al-Jazeera Fish Point, Daniyal Hotel and others were raided to check the cleanliness and supply of quality food items to the customers but during the raids, unhygienic food was served to the customers, cleanliness was not maintained and SOPs were violated openly, hence a fine of Rs 50,000 was imposed on Al-Rafiu, Rs2,2600 on Al-Jazeera Fish Point and Rs22,400 fine was imposed on other hotels.
They said they were issued warnings to get SFA licenses through registration and strictly abide by its laws or else stern legal action would be taken against them. They were further directed to implement SOPs at all costs and supply quality food to the residents for which they were getting huge money.
Meanwhile, residents of other towns also urged the SFA officials to randomly conduct raids in other towns of the district so that hygienic food, oil and other essential commodities could be ensured to the residents.
