Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab paid tribute to the renowned Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai on the occasion of his 282nd Urs and emphasized the importance of the poet’s message of peace, love and tolerance.
Wahab termed Bhittai as one of the most important literary figures in the world. Highlighting the importance of Bhittai’s teachings, he described them as a beacon for present-day society.
The Mayor appreciated the extensive scholarly work done on Bhittai’s poetry, especially Shah Jo Risalo, across the globe. He further emphasized that the poet’s verses promote fundamental human values such as unity, empathy and brotherhood.
