Show of hand in Senate polls to end horse trading: Shahwani

QUETTA:A Spokesperson for Provincial Government Liaquat Shahwani has said that show of hand during senate’s election will further strengthen the upper house and the dream of ending horse trading during election will be materialized.

Addressing a press conference at Officers Club here on Friday, Shahwani said Prime Minister Imran Khan had proposed to conduct election of Senate through show of hand. He said the introduction of show of hands would help eliminate horse trading during the election of Senate.

He stated that Senator Farhatullah Babar of Pakistan Peoples Party had also proposed to conduct election of Senate through show of hand while Maryum Nawaz had not opposed the show of hands. L

Shahwani said that according to an independent survey report, 56 percent increase in novel coronavirus cases in the country had been reported after the public gatherings of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). He said the leadership of PDM must postpone public gatherings so as to protect the lives of people.

Commissioner Quetta Division has requested for abolishing levies check posts on highways located in district Pishin and Killa Abdullah of the province. In a letter issued on Friday, Commissioner Quetta Division requested Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Tribal Affairs Department that necessary orders for abolishing levies Check posts in Saranan, and Garang, Zaraband, Chorri Bazaar, Maizi, Boghra, and Bypass Chaman in district Killa Abdullah might be issued.
