In response to the appeal by the sit-in committee against the Ziarat tragedy, a shutter-down strike was observed in Quetta and other cities of the province on Friday.
According to reports, in Quetta, shops remained closed in some commercial centers, markets, and business areas, while in several localities, routine life and business activities continued as normal.
The sit-in committee had called for a strike to express solidarity with the victims of the Ziarat tragedy and the families of the martyred police personnel.
Leaders of the sit-in committee said that the protest movement will continue until the approval of the demands related to the Ziarat tragedy. The committee demanded that a transparent investigation be conducted into the incident, justice be provided to the affected families, and their other demands be accepted.
On the other hand, the protest by the affected
families and the sit-in committee continued for the ninth day at Quetta’s Koela Phatak. The protesters staging a sit-in along with the bodies of seven martyred police officers. Following the appeal by the sit-in committee, a shutter-down strike was observed in various cities of Balochistan.
