Zimbabwe”s captain Sikandar Raza has once again returned to the summit of the ICC Men”s T20I Player Rankings for all-rounders, headlining a significant reshuffle across all categories influenced by standout performances at the ongoing T20 World Cup.
International Cricket Council said today Raza’s pivotal role in guiding Zimbabwe to the Super Eights stage, underscored by crucial innings of 45 against Sri Lanka and 27 versus the West Indies, propelled the veteran back to the number one position, displacing Pakistan”s Saim Ayub.
The two players have frequently swapped the top spot in recent times, but now face fresh competition from within the top ten. India’s Shivam Dube advanced two places to seventh, while Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi climbed three spots to secure the eighth position in the latest update.
In the T20I rankings for batters, India”s Abhishek Sharma maintained his lead despite a lean start to the tournament. Sharma holds a 62-rating-point advantage over his closest competitor, Phil Salt of England.
The most notable mover was Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan, the T20 World Cup”s leading run-scorer, who jumped two spots to a career-high third. Other significant gains inside the top ten include India”s Ishan Kishan, who rose three places to fifth, and Dewald Brevis, who surged ten rungs to ninth. Eye-catching progress was also made by Afghanistan”s Ibrahim Zadran (up four to 13th), West Indies captain Shai Hope (up four to 14th), and England skipper Harry Brook (up ten to 18th).
A similar trend of movement was observed among the bowlers, where Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy held onto his number one ranking despite an expensive recent showing against South Africa.
The biggest improver in the bowling category is South African seamer Corbin Bosch. The right-armer rocketed 21 places to land at third overall, following a three-wicket haul against the UAE and impressive figures of 2/12 against India.
Other substantial climbers in the top ten for bowlers include West Indies seamer Matthew Forde, who ascended 23 places to seventh, and India”s Jasprit Bumrah, who moved up seven spots to eighth. Further down the list, Marco Jansen (up eight to equal 19th), Gudakesh Motie (up 17 to equal 21st), and Liam Dawson (up 23 to 23rd) also made considerable advances.
