Sindh CM Warns of War-Like Situation Ahead of Major Religious Observances

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today stated the country is confronting a war-like situation, urging national unity and public cooperation in light of recent attacks on Iran.

This he said during a high-level meeting with Shia scholars at CM House convened to review and bolster security and administrative measures for the forthcoming religious events of Youm-e-Ali, Youm-e-Quds, and Jumat-ul-Vida.

A significant portion of the dialogue centred on guiding the public amid the circumstances arising from the regional tensions. The session commenced with prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Ali Khamenei and other martyrs.

Mr Shah emphasised that providing the public with proper guidance on the prevailing circumstances could prevent unnecessary issues. He affirmed that maintaining peace and order is the government”s foremost responsibility and that consultations with religious figures were vital for fostering harmony.

The Chief Minister gave assurances that the Sindh government is implementing the best possible security arrangements for the significant religious days and called upon the scholars for their cooperation. The meeting resolved to further enhance existing security protocols.

Attending the session were prominent religious leaders including Allama Syed Shahanshah Naqvi and Allama Nisar Ahmad Qalandri, alongside key government officials such as provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah, the Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho.

The discussion concluded with a consensus between the Sindh administration and the religious scholars to collaborate closely on promoting peace, brotherhood, and interfaith harmony throughout the province. An appeal was also made to the public to act responsibly to help maintain civic order.
