Sindh collects Rs81569.844m taxes in 10 months, informs Kumar

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla informed in a statement on Thursday that Sindh had collected a total of Rs81569.844 million taxes from July 2020 to April 2021 as compared to a tax of Rs64536.673 million collected during the same period last financial year.

 

Mentioning the breakup of the tax, the minister said that Rs7886.617 million were collected under motor vehicle tax, Rs67218.742 million under infrastructure cess and Rs1559.460 million under property tax.

 

Rs494.853 million were collected in terms of professional tax, Rs93.017 million in cotton fee and Rs30.213 million in entertainment duty respectively, he further informed. Chawal stated that overall situation of tax collection was satisfactory.

 

“So far in the current financial year, 93% tax targets has been achieved, he said and hoped to achieve more than 100 per cent tax target by the end of the current financial year. He directed the officers to expedite the tax collection.
