Sindh Confirms 516 Dengue Infections in 24 Hours Amidst Rising Concerns

Health authorities in Sindh today confirmed a significant single-day surge in dengue fever, with 516 individuals testing positive out of 4,562 people screened in the last 24 hours, according to a daily report issued by the Director General of Health. The Karachi division recorded the highest number of these new infections, accounting for 275 of the total positive cases.

The report detailed that across the province, 115 new dengue patients were hospitalized, with 63 individuals admitted to government medical facilities and another 52 cases confirmed in private hospitals. Following these new admissions, the total number of patients currently receiving care for the illness in Sindh stands at 114.

A geographical breakdown of admissions into state-run hospitals shows the Karachi division with 31 new patients, while the Hyderabad division, which saw 241 positive tests, had 15 individuals hospitalized in its government facilities.

On a more positive note, a substantial number of patients have recovered. The daily update stated that 69 individuals were discharged from government hospitals and 79 from private institutions after making a full recovery. Health officials also confirmed that no dengue-related fatalities were recorded in the province during the reporting period.

In light of the situation, the Director General of Health Sindh has issued an appeal, urging citizens to adopt preventive measures to curb the spread of dengue and to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest health facility if they experience fever or other related symptoms.
