Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar listened to public complaints and grievances over the telephone at the Chief Minister Sindh’s Central Complaint Cell and directed the relevant departments to ensure their prompt, transparent and effective resolution.
According to the information by the Sindh home ministry today, Mr Lanjar instructed officials concerned to take immediate action on the complaints received and submit compliance reports within the stipulated time, warning that delays in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated.
“The provision of relief to citizens is the top priority of the Sindh government, and every genuine complaint must be resolved without delay,” Lanjar said. He warned that negligence or carelessness on the part of officials in resolving public complaints and issues would invite disciplinary action.
The home minister stressed that citizens should not be compelled to make repeated visits to government offices for the resolution of their problems. Instead, their grievances should be addressed at their doorstep through efficient and responsive governance.
He said that, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Sindh, providing immediate and dignified relief to the people remained the foremost responsibility of the provincial government.
Lanjar said the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government believed in public service, transparent governance and accountability, adding that the effective resolution of citizens’ complaints was the true measure of the Sindh government’s performance.
He further said the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell would be strengthened as a reliable bridge of trust between the government and the public.
The home minister directed all relevant institutions to keep complainants regularly informed about the progress made on their complaints and reiterated that public service, swift justice and effective governance were being promoted to further strengthen the people-centric vision of the Sindh government.
