Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said today that extraordinary and foolproof security arrangements must be ensured at all costs during Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to an official information, he directed officials to ensure strict enforcement of all restrictions imposed by the Sindh Home Department; no leniency will be tolerated. No procession will be allowed without a permit or NOC; all relevant stakeholders should be informed in advance, he further instructed.
The home minister said a special control and monitoring room should be established at the Central Police Office for security surveillance during Muharram-ul-Haram. He said CCTV monitoring through the Command and Control Center should be made fully effective and foolproof in all respects.
He said that security deployment at Nishtar Park, Hussainia Irania, imambargahs, mosques, and main routes should be personally reviewed while the availability of reserve force in all zones of Karachi must be ensured so that any emergency situation can be dealt with immediately.
Mr Lanjar said the Special Branch should enhance surveillance of hotels, guest houses, and other accommodations, and maintain a daily record of arrivals and departures. Sindh Interior Minister
