Sindh Reports 86 New Dengue Cases in 24 Hours, With Majority in Karachi

Sindh province today recorded 86 new instances of dengue fever in the last 24 hours, with health officials confirming that 33 individuals were admitted to various medical facilities for treatment, according to a daily report.

The report, issued by the Director General Health Sindh, detailed that 15 new patients were hospitalized in government-run institutions and 18 in private ones. Concurrently, a total of 29 patients-15 from public and 14 from private hospitals-were discharged after successful recovery. The total number of dengue patients currently receiving inpatient care across the province stands at 29.

A geographical breakdown of the data shows Karachi Division as the primary hotspot, with its laboratories reporting 61 of the new positive cases. An additional 25 positive results emerged from Hyderabad. Of the new government hospital admissions, six were registered in Karachi and three in Hyderabad.

These findings were the result of 1,280 diagnostic tests conducted at both public and private laboratories throughout the province. Encouragingly, the report confirmed that no dengue-related fatalities have been documented anywhere in Sindh.

The Director General Health Sindh affirmed that the provincial Health Department is actively overseeing the situation and has called on the public to adopt necessary preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus.
