Sindh Sets Up One-Window Desk for Transporters

The Sindh government has approved a one-window facilitation desk for goods transport operators at the New Sabzi Mandi to streamline documentation and improve service delivery in the freight sector.

According to an official information today, the relevant departments have been directed to immediately establish the facility to simplify route permits and other regulatory requirements for commercial vehicles.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department, where officials agreed to centralise services related to permits and vehicle documentation.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the initiative aimed to facilitate issuance and renewal of route permits while integrating freight transport into a digital system. He added that the desk would be operational within the week, with staff deployment and public awareness measures planned.

Memon said the move would reduce office visits for transporters and cut time and costs through digital permits and fitness certificates. Jamil Fakhri died on this day in Lahore in 2011.
