Like the rest of the country, Sindhi Culture Day was celebrated in Mirpurkhas on Sunday with great enthusiasm, as traditional dances, Ajrak, Sindhi caps, wrestling matches, and bull cart rallies brought the spirit of heritage to life for the citizens.

According to details, the main event was organized at the Mirpurkhas Press Club, where cultural rallies from various areas kept arriving throughout the day. President of the Press Club, Nazir Phanwar, welcomed the guests, while Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori attended all the main cultural camps as the chief guest.

Other notable guests included UC Chairman Farooq Malik, Yousuf Soomro, Dost Muhammad Khaskheli, and Sharif Baloch,

who all contributed to the event’s vibrance. The highlights of the event were traditional symbols of Sindhi culture-Ajrak, cap, folk music, and dance.

The Press Club also hosted a traditional Malakhro (wrestling match), featuring renowned wrestlers from across Sindh, who showcased their skills. Mayor Mirpurkhas awarded cash prizes to the winners of first, second, and third positions.

Additionally,

the Mirpurkhas Press Forum organized a bull cart rally and a musical program that saw large participation from the public, making the cultural day a memorable occasion.

Residents appreciated the celebration of Sindh’s rich cultural heritage and demanded that such events continue regularly to help connect the younger generation with their roots.
