Sindh’s Maarka-e-Haq Sports Events Conclude

Over 400 young athletes from Karachi’s East and West districts competed in the “Maarka-e-Haq” (Battle for Truth) sports events organized by the Sindh government’s Sports Department, culminating in closing ceremonies where winners received trophies and certificates.

The games, held under the patronage of the District East Sindh Youth Club, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and District West, featured badminton, volleyball, and boxing competitions for both boys and girls. The events began with the national anthem and concluded with tributes to the Pakistan Armed Forces.

In volleyball, District East triumphed over District Central, securing the top spot. The badminton competition saw Muzammil Waseem and Ali Gulab win first place in the boys” category, with Hussain and Hamza taking second. Among the girls, Ajo and Sahba clinched the top spot, while Rosheen and Huda came in second.

The boxing matches, held in District West, featured 22 weight classes. Jannat from One ABC Club emerged victorious in the girls’ 30 kg category, while Ayesha from KBC Club won the 44 kg category. In the men”s competition, Taimur and Farooq, both from KBBC Club, secured victories in the 51 kg and 70 kg categories, respectively.

Distinguished guests, including Rangers DSR Irshad Beg, Additional Secretary Asad Ishaq, Deputy Director Syed Jabibullah, and various District Sports Officers (DSOs) attended the closing ceremonies. The events coincided with Independence Day celebrations, emphasizing national unity and patriotism.

Sports Department representative Imran Ali noted that the “Maarka-e-Haq” initiative includes 160 sports activities across Sindh. Under the direction of the Sindh Chief Minister and Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, these programs seek to encourage discipline, healthy lifestyles, and national pride among young people.
