Sindh’s Men’s and Women’s teams selected for the 35th National Games

The Sindh Sports Department today officially announced its men’s and women’s Sepak Takraw squads for the 35th National Games. This announcement finalizes the region’s representation for the upcoming national competition, while officials have urged the selected athletes to bring laurels for the province.

The decisive trials, organized by the Sindh Sepak Takraw Association, were held at the Hyderabad Club in Hyderabad. The event saw enthusiastic participation from players representing all divisions of Sindh, all vying for a coveted spot on the provincial teams.

A comprehensive selection committee, headed by Dr. Arif Hafeez and comprising Shabbir Ahmed, Akhtar Malik, Muhammad Khalid, and Humaira Rajput, oversaw the selection process. The process was observed by prominent figures including Pakistan Sepak Takraw Federation Secretary General Naushad Ahmed Khan, DSO Hyderabad Maryam Keerio, and DSO Benazirabad Abdul Rahim Rajput.

Following the tryouts, Dr. Arif Hafeez announced the final squads. The men’s team includes Farhan Khan, Shahid Rana, Sarfaraz Rehman, Abdul Haseeb, Kashif Qaimkhani, Fazil Shabbir, Noman Alam, and Kashif Khan.

The women’s contingent includes Maryam Anwar Butt, Aqsa Shafi, Kanwal Yousuf, Didar Rani, Maryam Ghauri, Zam Zam, Aqsa Naz, and Kanwal Taj.

In her address, DSO Hyderabad Maryam Keerio encouraged the selected players. She said, “I urge these children who have succeeded and been selected to represent Sindh to work hard and perform to their full potential to bring laurels for Sindh.” She also commended the unselected participants for their enthusiastic participation.
