Members of the Airi community protested on the Indus Highway today, expressing their discontent against the alleged detention of Jeay Sindh Mahaz leader Asadullah Airi. The protesters, including men, women, and children, demanded his immediate release while raising fervent slogans against law enforcement agencies.
Eyewitnesses, including Dildar Airi and Babra Airi, stated that Asadullah Airi was arrested by a large contingent of police from his shop. Since then, there has been no trace of his whereabouts, causing anxiety among his supporters. Attempts to obtain clarification from the Station House Officer (SHO) of Naseerabad were met with police denial of the detention.
Protesters insist that if there are any legal charges against Asadullah Airi, they should be publicly disclosed. According to them, arresting someone without transparent justification is a grave injustice. They have demanded the IG Sindh ensure Asadullah Airi’s release; otherwise, the protest will continue until their demand is met.
On the other hand, the SHO of Naseerabad revealed that Larkana CIA police had taken Asadullah Airi into custody. According to the SHO, the ongoing investigation aims to uncover the reasons behind his detention, leaving the community awaiting further developments.
