CHAMAN: Six people were killed and 14 others injured when a bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded near a protest rally of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Nazriyati) taken out in solidarity with the Palestinians in Chaman, a bordering city with Afghanistan, on Friday.
According to security forces, soon after the blast, personnel of FC, Levies and police rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and shifted the bodies and the injured to District Headquarter Hospital, Chaman and Quetta.
The powerful blast damaged several shops and vehicles parked near the site of blast besides smashing window panes of nearby buildings and shops. Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan strongly condemned the blast in Chaman. Expressing heartfelt grief over the loss of precious lives, he said that terrorists deserved no sympathy.
He said that no one would be allowed to vitiate peace of the province. Medical Superintendent, Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta declared emergency after the bomb blast in Chaman.
Among the dead were Muhammad Ibrahim, son of Haji Nazar Muhammad, resident of Killi Thekedar, Chaman; Abdul Qahir, son of Abdul Qayyum Alizai, resident of Guldar Baghecha, Chaman; Tur, son Muhammad Azeem Barakzai, resident of Haji Salehzai Burma, Chaman; Abdul Rasheed, son of Suhbat Khan Nusratzai, resident of Rehman Kahul Road, Chaman; Mehmood-ul-Hassan, son of Molvi Hamdullah Batakzai, resident of Shahsawar Muhalla, Chaman; and one unidentified person.
The injured include Attaullah, son of Abdullah Khilji, resident of Quetta; Arshad, son of Muhammad Zaman Awan, resident of Murghae Bazar Chaman; Muhammad Hanif, son of Haji Nazar Muhammad Malezai, resident of Killi Thekedar, Chaman; Pushtun, son of Hameedullah Kakar, resident of Bypass Chaman; Muhammad Sadiq, son of Rahu Asezai, resident of Mehmoodabad Chaman; Fareedullah, son of Ghulam Muhammad Malezai, resident of Ghura Hospital, Chaman; Fazal Muhammad, son of Abdul Salam Kakar, resident of Guldar Muhalla, Chaman; Abdul Samad, son Muhammad Salehzai, resident of Sheen Talab, Chaman; Hikmatullah, son of Asmatullah Ishaqzai, resident of Zanana Bazar, Chaman; Asmatullah, son of Muhammad Ibrahim Kakar, resident of Guldar Baghecha, Chaman; Muhammad Iqbal, son of Muhammad Naeem, caste Syed, resident of Quetta; Malik Inayatullah, son Khudai Nazar Malezai, resident of Sanzer Karez, Chaman; Naimatullah, son of Ghulam Sarwar Ashezai, resident of Chaman.
