Sports: Baseball: Pakistan to feature in U-12 Asian Baseball Championship in Taiwan

Karachi:Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) President Syed Fakhar Ali Shah has said that PFB has confirmed Pakistan’s participation in U-12 Asian Baseball Championship, which will be held in Taiwan in November.

The tournament was initially scheduled to be held in July but the event has been postponed due to coronavirus threat and will now be held in November.

Fakhar said that apart from Pakistan, Japan, Taipei, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines and Sri Lanka have qualified for the prestigious events after performing well.

Meanwhile, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh, Singapore and Iraq failed to qualify for the event.

Players born in 2008 and 2009 will be considered for selection.

Fakhar Ali Shah added that players the federation has been working with players, who have been involved in national interschool events and have attended camps.

He further informed that the federation has been giving online coaching tips to players, who are practicing in isolation and sending videos of their practice.
