Sports – Pakistani Sports Organisation Pitches Bilateral Events to Sri Lankan Diplomat

A sports management entity has expressed a keen interest in organising collaborative athletic events with Sri Lanka, proposing enhanced mutual cooperation during a high-level meeting with the Sri Lankan Consul General.

According to a report today, a delegation from RK Sports Management, including Chairman Atif Iqbal, Vice Chairperson Irum Fawad, President Rais Khan, and Executive Member Sher Bano Syed, met with Consul General Sanjeeva Pattiwila at the Sri Lankan Consulate.

The group congratulated the diplomat on Sri Lanka’s successful hosting and proficient arrangements for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Mr Pattiwila acknowledged that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are currently displaying outstanding performances in various sports.

The Consul General noted that a large contingent of spectators from Pakistan visited for the tournament and appreciated the hospitality extended to them.

Chairman Atif Iqbal provided an overview of the organisation”s initiatives, stating its commitment to nurturing talent at the grassroots level. He formally conveyed the group’s interest in organising future sporting events in partnership with Sri Lanka, expressing hope for reciprocal cooperation.

Reinforcing this sentiment, President Rais Khan remarked on the strong relations between the two nations, highlighting the considerable opportunities for partnership in the fields of sports and culture.

The meeting concluded with the Consul General and the delegation cutting a cake. On behalf of RK Sports Management, Mr Iqbal presented a traditional Ajrak to the diplomat as a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange.
