Steps being taken to provide healthcare facilities: Secretary Health

QUETTA:Noor-ul-Haq Baloch, Secretary Health Department has said that steps were being taken to provide healthcare facilities to the people in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi and Chief Secretary Balochistan, Captain (Retd) Fazeel Asghar.

These views were expressed by him while presiding over a meeting held here on Saturday to deliberate upon setting up 30-bedded modern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta. Noor-ul-Haq Baloch said that complete training to run the affairs of ICU would be imparted upon healthcare workers that were required to be posted in ICU, adding that for procurement of medicines for the ICU, separate budget would be allocated.

Noor-ul-Haq Baloch said that the early establishment of modern ICU in Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta would be a gift for the people of Balochistan. He said necessary healthcare accessories would be provided along with installation of machinery in the ICU after consultation with Professor Syed Khalid Shah and Professor Jahanzeb Khan Nasar. Noor-ul-Haq Baloch added all available resources were being utilized to provide healthcare facilities to the people of the province.

The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta Dr. Arbab Kam Kasi, Head of Medicine Unit-II, Professor Syed Khalid Shah, Head of Medicine Unit IV, Professor Jahanzeb Khan Nasar, Assistant Professor, Dr. Kaleemullah, DMS (Admin), Dr. Javed Akhtar, DMS (General), Dr. Mehboob Qumbrani, ICU Specialist, Dr. Yousaf Achakzai, RMO (General), Dr. Hafeez Seyal, Nursing Superintendent, Dr. Babar Ansari, Assistant Account Officer, Muhammad Khair and others.
