Stock Market Sees Mixed Performance Amid Trading Decline

The stock market witnessed mixed performance on Friday, with a notable decrease in overall trading activity. The Pakistan Stock Exchange reported that 144 companies experienced gains, 167 saw declines, and 4 remained unchanged, out of a total of 315 companies.

Indices showed varied movements, with the KSE100 index rising by 719.69 points to close at 119,691.09. The KSE30 and KMI30 indices also posted gains, increasing by 249.55 and 1,125.53 points, respectively. However, the overall market turnover saw a steep decline, with only 580,318,842 shares traded compared to the previous figure of 741,654,162.

In terms of significant turnover, WorldCall Telecom led the list with 79,666,803 shares traded, despite its closing rate falling to 1.37. K-Electric Ltd. and Cnergyico PK followed, with turnovers of 47,700,857 and 35,756,575 shares, respectively.

Among the companies reflecting rate increases, PIA Holding Company LimitedB stood out with a substantial rise of 2,670.41, closing at 29,374.54. Conversely, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited faced a significant decline, dropping by 147.42 to close at 9,960.91.

The market capitalization was recorded at 14,503,477,947,681, slightly up from the previous day, indicating some resilience in market value despite reduced trading volumes.
