Stock Market Sees Modest Gains Amid Mixed Trading

The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a modest uptick today as the KSE100 index rose by 414.45 points, closing at 117,315.59, marking a 0.35% increase from the previous session. Meanwhile, the KSE30 index climbed 183.72 points to settle at 36,116.37, reflecting a 0.51% gain.

In the ready market, 189 companies ended in positive territory, while 197 experienced losses, with 60 remaining unchanged, out of a total of 446 companies traded. The future market reflected a similar pattern with 132 gainers and 172 decliners among 309 companies.

The market turnover showed a notable increase, with 425,121,963 shares traded in the regular market, up from 408,066,790 in the previous session. The traded value also saw a rise, reaching 34,495,851,806 from 32,127,330,034.

Among the top performers, Sui South Gas led with a turnover of 38,238,255 shares, closing at 42.47. Pak Int. Bulk followed closely with 30,965,499 shares traded, ending at 10.61. K-Electric Ltd. also saw significant activity with 22,907,790 shares, closing at 4.53.

Despite the mixed results across companies, the overall market capitalization increased to 14,345,594,759,361, up from 14,292,864,285,708, indicating a positive sentiment among investors.
