Thousands of pilgrims, including a large number of women, children, and the elderly, faced severe hunger and thirst after the suspension of train services at Nawabshah Railway Station on Tuesday.
These passengers were returning after attending the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and have been stranded on various platforms of the station since yesterday. The unexpected halt in rail operations has left them in a state of extreme distress with no alternative means of transportation.
Due to the prolonged suspension, passengers are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of food, drinking water, and other basic amenities. According to reports, large crowds of families are helpless as they wait for the service to be restored.
A strong appeal has been made by the public to the district administration to take immediate notice of this dire situation. Authorities are being urged to arrange for the supply of food and essential items to provide some relief to the severely distressed passengers.
An appeal for help is also being made to the community, with the hope that the citizens and trade organizations of Nawabshah will demonstrate the same spirit of generosity and compassion shown during the Hazara Express accident in the past to aid the stranded pilgrims.
