On the day of Eid, stray dogs attacked a child in Okara, causing severe injuries. The Deputy Commissioner took immediate action by suspending the Enforcement Inspector and issuing a show-cause notice to Chief Officer Saad Uz Zaman. The child has been transferred to a hospital in Lahore.
According to details, a pack of stray dogs attacked 10-year-old Abdul Ghaffar, son of Muhammad Ishaq, near Masjid Noor Madina. The incident occurred when Abdul Ghaffar was on his way home. Local residents made vigorous efforts to rescue the child from the dogs and eventually succeeded in freeing him.
The injured child was initially moved to the Intensive Care Unit of THQ Hospital, Haveli Lakha, but due to the critical nature of his condition, he was referred to a hospital in Lahore.
Deputy Commissioner Ahmad Usman Javed took immediate notice of the incident and instructed Assistant Commissioner Depalpur Naeem Bashir to take action. Consequently, Enforcement Inspector Waqar Ahmad was suspended, and Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee Saad Uz Zaman was issued a show-cause notice for negligence.
According to a spokesperson for the district administration, strict action would be taken against officials negligent in handling the issue of stray dogs. The condition of the injured child is now out of danger.
