Students of Kandhkot-Kashmore protest against lawlessness

LARKANA: Students from different areas of Kandhkot-Kashmore district studying in Larkana held a large protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Friday against the worsened law and order situation in their district. They were holding placards in their hands and shouted slogans against the police failure to curb crime.

On this occasion, the students of Quaid Awam Engineering University campus and other educational institutions including Shabbir Bajkani, Zahid Jagirani, Wazir Dahani, Rashid Gujrani, Imdad Bhalkani, Majid Nandwani, Mazhar Bajkani and others complained that Zeeshan Siddiqui was appointed SSP Kashmore Kandhkot on 7th September. During the 25 days of his appointment, the rule of criminals has been established in the rural and remote areas of the district and now in the urban areas due to which the citizens feel unsafe. They said that with the appointment of the new SSP, police official Abdul Nabi Bajrani was killed on 3rd September. On September 11, Gada Hussain Sawand and his son Mohammad Ali were killed during a robbery. Young Muhammad Nawaz Sheikh was kidnapped and killed after his tortured body was recovered.

They said that at present more than 15 people of the district have been abducted, including two people from Dari Sundarani Sheikh community, Shehzad Qambrani from Manjhi Bridge, two herdsmen Allah Bakhsh Tanwari and Hadi Bakhsh Tanwari from Ashraf Ali Bajrani village, Zubair Punjabi of Lahore, Abdul Ghani Dahani, Wali Dad Khoso, two students Ashfaq and Ashiq Ali Soomro from Kandhkot Golimar neighborhood, driver Naseer Brohi of Madiji, Gul Muhammad Malik from Bakhshapur, Abdul Waheed Dahani and others. They further alleged that motorcycles, mobile phones snatching along with thefts, robberies and crimes are constantly increasing day by day and no one is safe.

They said that no action is taken to recover the hostages who are being sold from one place to another by the bandits. They appealed to IG Sindh, DIG Larkana and other officials to improve the law and order situation of Kashmore Kandhkot district by removing SSP Zeeshan Siddiqui and appointing an honest police officer in his place, and arrest all accused involved in the incidents of murder and kidnapping and loot and people should be provided protection or else, they warned that the educated youth of the district will establish a protest camp at Sindh Punjab border keep a protest camp on the Sindh-Punjab border which will continue until the army operation against the criminals.
