Hundreds of residents, including farmers and laborers, participated in a large demonstration on Sunday organized by the Sujag Shehri Ittehad to demand the immediate construction of a taluka hospital due to a severe lack of health facilities in Nasirabad.
Led by the alliance’s president, Comrade Muhammad Rafi Laghari, and other community figures, the procession started from the village of Ghulam Rasool Abro. Participants carried banners and placards, expressing their grievances against the government and the health department through passionate slogans.
Addressing the crowd, the organizers said that the existing medical facilities in the large and densely populated Nasirabad taluka are “grossly inadequate,” causing patients to face severe difficulties daily.
The leaders revealed that their campaign is being fought on two fronts. Alongside the public protest movement, the Sujag Shehri Ittehad has also filed a petition in the Larkana High Court to pursue its objective through legal channels.
They clarified that the movement is not for any political gain but is a non-partisan effort to “save the health and lives of hundreds of thousands of people.” The organizers pledged that this peaceful and democratic struggle would continue until the fundamental rights of Nasirabad’s residents are secured.
Expressing confidence in the judiciary, the leaders expressed hope that justice would be delivered by the courts and higher authorities, resulting in the immediate commencement of the hospital’s construction. They concluded with an appeal for public unity, stating that the solution to such problems is only possible through a united struggle.
