Sweeping Police Operation Nets 25 Individuals; Automatic Weapon and Narcotics Confiscated

Authorities in the federal capital on Wednesday claimed to apprehended 25 individuals, including proclaimed offenders, and seized a significant cache of illegal weapons and narcotics during a widespread crackdown on criminal elements.

In a series of targeted operations, police teams from the Karachi Company, Ramna, Shams Colony, Khanna, and Humak stations took nine suspects into custody. The individuals were allegedly involved in a variety of criminal activities.

During the arrests, law enforcement officials recovered an assortment of contraband, including 530 grams of hashish, five pistols, a gun, a Kalashnikov rifle with ammunition, and two daggers. Formal cases have been registered against the suspects, and further investigations are underway.

Separately, a dedicated campaign targeting fugitives resulted in the capture of 16 proclaimed offenders and absconders by various police units.

The recent operations are part of an ongoing, effective drive against crime, conducted under special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative aims to maintain peace and tranquility within the capital.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the force”s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He stated that elements seeking to disturb public peace would not be tolerated, emphasising that citizen protection is the foremost priority.

The police have also called upon the public to contribute to crime eradication by immediately reporting any suspicious persons or activities. Citizens are encouraged to contact their local police station or use the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation between law enforcement and the community.
